    Late August News!

    August 30, 2023

Welcome to August! I just wanted to check in a let you know what is happening here at the Bunker! I am up to my elbows in collections at the moment. I will be posting a pile of King and Country, W.Britains, Thomas Gunn and Forces of Valor in the next 24 hours. I will also be bringing a bunch of this collection to Chicagoland. I have a lot of loose 1/32 scale vehicles, terrain, Build-A-Rama, JG Miniatures and random stuff that will be going to the Chicagoland show. We just added a W.Britains Retired American Revolution collection to the website. We will also be adding some WW2 and terrian here too. LINK: RETIRED We have been carrying the hand made terrain made by John Gittens (JG Miniatures) for over 20 years. Sadly John Is retiring at the first of the year. We can take orders for a couple more months. For the most part we will be selling of just the existing stock. We can take orders for bit but you must buy - we are not taking unpaid pre-orders. LINK: JG I just sorted out a collection of model kits. With it was lots of accessories and decals. They are now in the shop and ready to sell. We also have dozens of kits that are loaded with extra decals and aftermarket items. We have marked the kits so you know what you get.

Welcome to August! I just wanted to check in a let you know what is happening here at the Bunker! Yesterday I took a drive down to Long Island to pick up a collection of mainly World War II - King and Country, W.Britains, Thomas Gunn, Collectors Showcase, Forces of Valor and Build-A-Rama. It was a long day with many trips up the basement stairs. After loading up the seller convinced me to take the ferry home. I drove out to Orient, NY and took the ferry across Long Island Sound to New London. CT. Very nice trip watching the sunset and seeing the Coast Guard Eagle Ship in the New London Harbor. I went on this ship a few years ago in Boston. The ship is a war prize from World War 2. It was built in 1936 and taken in 1946. Below we have our line up for this Saturdays Gamesday (8/26). Above is a picture from last years Gamesday.

Welcome to August! I just wanted to check in a let you know what is happening here at the Bunker! Gamesday is shaping up for 8/26. We have several players on board for our "A Song of Ice and Fire" Tourney this Saturday. Most of the grunt work for running the Chicagoland show is done. Soon I can start packing and getting my merchandise ready for the trip which starts about a month from now. Today we just picked up about a hundred 1/35 scale armor and figure kits along with some more aircraft. We will get them sorted over the weekend. Tomorrow morning I am heading up to NH to pick up a collection that has some toy soldiers, Sideshow toys, 21st Century/Ultimate Soldier 12" figures and some Marx 12" figures. Next week I will be picking up a huge World War II collection of all sorts of stuff. We just picked up some Glossy W.Britains Crimean War figures. LINK: Britains The above picture are new prototypes of some Carthaginians riding what are now distinct small African elephants. These are made by John Jenkins Designs. They were small enough that Howdas were not used. One of the places they most likely appeared was the Battle of Zama. I expect to see these in a few months.

I just wanted to check in a let you know what is happening here at the Bunker! The FANEXPO BOSTON has came and went. What a show! Lots of work and lots of fun. Now it is time to get the "A Song of Ice and Fire Tourney" and Gamesday going! I also have spent lots of time gearing up to run the Chicagoland Toy Soldier Show. The hotel is almost out of rooms and the dealer tables are almost sold out! The photo above is our 3D prints shown with the W.Britains Sherman tank and figures. I painted the gate and walls. We are starting to get some production and we will be able to sell soon. Model kits. We got the shop loaded again with all the collections we have just picked up and sorted. We got a cool new Revell '71 Mustang and a 2021 Ford Bronco kit. Nice to see some new car models. We also put up a bunch of vintage Aurora kits on our ebay page. Seller = mobbunker. We have just completed full inventories of King and Country and Thomas Gunn. What does this mean? We have added lost of things that were previously sold out and now are back up on the site. We marked lots of items as "last one." Meaning last one in our inventory. We also yanked off discontinued items that we now do not have. The T. Gunn is 100% updated and the K&C is about 50% done as far as updating the website. Surprisingly some of the newly listed stuff has been selling within 24 hours of listing...take a browse! We will be tackling the John Jenkins next. We just picked up some Glossy W.Britains Crimean War figures. LINK: Britains
