The Vexillum Bearer

The Vexillum-bearer played an important part in the legion, which is usually served by a veteran legionary who have been in the legion for more than 20 years.  Their costume is noticeably different from the legionaries' as they would wear an animal skin (the lionskin was standard for a corps, the bearskin was standard for a battalion, and the wolfskin was standard for a brigade).  Our qualified Vexillum-bearer wears a white bearskin and carried a small round decorated shield on his back.
