RENAULT FT 17 LIGHT TANK
Revolutionary would be perhaps the best description to afford the French Renault FT 17 tank. Initially seeing action towards the end of WWI, this light tank was the first to have armament within a rotating turret and an engine located at the rear. The crew were situated at the front of the tank entering through a forward hatch. These light tanks were made in their thousands and this pioneering blueprint was to set the basic configuration for all future tank design.
