Halloween & Hobby News!
October 27, 2026
Happy Halloween! The weather has been changing day to day, and it's definitely getting colder around here! We've been moving things around the shop, trying to make the front of the store a little more presentable while expanding a few sections. The biggest change is that the car model section has moved to the back, between the armor kits and ship models. We've now created a whole "model wall"! We've also secured a massive King & Country collection out on the West Coast. Now comes the fun part: figuring out the logistics of getting it here! I'm hoping to have everything in before Thanksgiving. Last week's King & Country WWII collection was a nice one, too. Unfortunately, the previous owner was a smoker, so I need to air everything out and get it into more sellable condition. The good news is that the figures and boxes are otherwise pristine.

Back From the Road! Well, I just wrapped up another road trip, and I'm looking forward to not going anywhere for the next month or so! Of course, I do have a quick trip down to Rhode Island to pick up another toy soldier collection and drop off a bunch of soldiers for someone else to sell for me. So much for staying put! We've been getting emails almost daily from people looking to sell collections. It's getting tough to keep track of everything! We're currently working on getting a massive King & Country collection from the West Coast delivered here in November. I think tomorrows pickup will also have a good number of King & Country WWII pieces, so there should be plenty of interesting stuff coming through the shop over the next few weeks.

A Busy October at Hobby Bunker! We’re having a big week here at Hobby Bunker as we roll through the middle of October! Looks like we have a full lineup of games being played in the store tonight, and I actually get to play Bolt Action myself! I haven't played a game since August. Too many conventions and not enough time to roll some dice! Lots of New Arrivals! This past Monday was a busy one with the holiday, and we had a special delivery from New York with about 200 Tamiya 1/35 scale model kits and a bunch of Verlinden kits and accessories. Yesterday the store was crazy busy! We had a couple visiting from Brazil who managed to fill about six shopping baskets with all kinds of goodies. Toy soldiers, accessories, paints, terrain—you name it! I'm not quite sure how they're going to get everything on the plane, but I'm sure they'll figure it out. They certainly made the most of their visit! We also just received about 200 packs of Reaper Fantasy Miniatures, and Steve is busy getting those back on the shelves. Shipments from Victrix and Wargames Atlantic just showed up as well, so there's plenty of new stuff to check out. Plus a Hobby Bunker Foam Restock and a Pro Acryl Paint Restock.

Fall Is in the Air! Fall is in the air and the leaves are starting to change around here. We’ve got plenty of new stuff arriving at Hobby Bunker this week! We just received the new German RSO vehicle from Tamiya, along with a big restock of games and Games Workshop products. And, for the third week in a row, another pile of Gundam kits has arrived! Today we finally received the last of the September releases from King & Country, including the new German soldiers in parade dress and the 95th Rifles figures. The new War Park releases also arrived today, so Dawn is busy this afternoon packing up your goodies and getting orders ready to go! Thanks for a Great Burlington Show! We had a successful Toy Soldier Show in Burlington last Sunday. Attendance was up, and so was dealer participation! I want to say thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show. Without collectors coming through the doors, we wouldn’t be able to keep putting these shows on. We really appreciate the support!

Hello October! Well, we’re onto October! There’s plenty going on at Hobby Bunker this month, both here at the shop and out on the road. This Sunday we have our annual Toy Soldier Show in Burlington, MA, at the Hilton Garden Inn. We’re now holding the Burlington show just once a year, so come down and check it out! Then on October 18, we’ll be heading to Wayne, New Jersey, for the New Jersey Toy Soldier Show. This past Sunday, Joe and I were at PatCon. Unloading in the pouring, windy rain was certainly an experience! Attendance was pretty good, all things considered, and we also got a chance to visit the American Heritage Museum and check out all the tanks, military vehicles, aircraft, and other cool stuff. PatCon itself was held in the hangar alongside a great collection of aircraft and vintage Daytona- and Indy-style race cars. Navigating through the mud to get to the porta-potties and food trucks was a real hoot. Despite the weather, we had a good time
