  Hello. I have just returned from Chicagoland, and the Hobby Bunker is now almost fully operational again. September has been an unusually busy month in the shop, and the CTSS was held a week earlier due to a PGA Golf event in Schaumburg this week. We experienced several delayed shipments this month. Apparently, new tariff policies went into effect on September 1st. I had a King and Country shipment sit in Indianapolis from September 1st to September 21st, causing me to miss the show and resulting in a three-week delay in fulfilling orders. The new War Park shipment encountered the same issue, arriving here on September 21st. Between shipment delays and my being out of town for about nine days, we fell behind. As of now, we are caught up again. Timing is everything, as they say.

  September 11, 2026

  September is rolling by, and tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. It’s something that will forever be on our minds, and my, how the world has changed since 2001. Over the years, we’ve had so many customers and friends from the New York and New Jersey area who had personal experiences with that tragedy. My own brother was in Manhattan that day and had to walk across the Williamsburg Bridge to get home. Please take a moment tomorrow to remember and reflect. Here at the shop, August was consistently busy, and surprisingly, that has continued right into September! Usually things slow down a little around now and give me some time to prepare for the Chicagoland Toy Soldier Show. Not this year. I guess I have some long days ahead of me getting everything ready through the weekend. So much for a relaxing Labor Day week! This will be our fourth year running the Chicagoland Toy Soldier Show. Luckily, I have a great group of out-of-state helpers who come in and help make the show happen. That also means I can leave our regular crew back home to keep Da’ Bunka running while we take over the show in Chicago. Steve jumped right into the mix this week. His first challenge: our big shipment from Mars! And Mars wasn't the only delivery. This week we've received shipments from Mars, LOD Toy Soldiers, Monument Hobbies (including a Pro Acryl paint restock), Hobbytyme, HäT Industrie, Modiphius Games, and more. We're filling the shelves with plenty of new goodies, along with a big model kit restock featuring lots of Tamiya.

  Happy Labor Day! September is here, and we’re looking forward to Labor Day weekend! Since we love labor so much, we’ll be open Labor Day from 12–6 PM! The shop has been consistently busy, and August sales were fantastic, so thank you to everyone who stopped in, placed an order, or supported Hobby Bunker. We really appreciate it.

  August 21st News!

  Hey everybody! Sorry I've been delayed in getting out a newsletter. It's been a little hectic over here at the Bunker! Last week I drove down to New Jersey to finish picking up a massive collection of Russian-painted Knights, along with lots of American Civil War soldiers from W. Britains, Conte Collectibles, Frontline Figures, and other makers. Most of the figures are loose, and there are some really interesting pieces in the collection. We've already started adding some of the Russian figures to ebay and put some out in the store, so keep an eye out! A great majority of the figures will be going out at the next few shows.
