The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 8 skirmishers plus relevant hard-plastic weapons. There are sufficient surplus items to assemble 6 javeliners and 2 slingers; or 2 javeliners and 6 slingers. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures.
As mentioned previously, our reference period for the design of this range is the 14th Century to match with our existing medieval range of models.
The warriors who fight as skirmishers are often from the poorer classes or tribal people. We have thus dressed them in workmen clothing: short tunic and loose trousers and wearing sandals rather than boots. Their side-arms are axes and daggers rather than swords or sabres.
Their shields are smaller and weaker, often stitched layers of rawhide or similar.
