Lawrence of Arabia, T E Lawrence, an Englishman, gained fame for exploits in the Middle East and Arabia at beginning of the 20th centry.
Lawrence had a passion for riding motorcyclies and had special mashines hand built for him by George Brough in Nottingham, England, wich were the vwery best in their day. Today enthusiasts still think of Brough as the Rolls-Royce of motorcycles, even though production cesed in 1940.
Lawrence called his motorcycles Boanerges, ann appropriate name for a high powered mashine. Boanerges is of Greak origin and means Son of Thunder.
The Brough motorcycle achived a record speed of 169 mph in 1934 and impressive 60 mpg.
It is claimed that Lawrence died following an accident on his Brough whilst trying to avoid some children on a Dorset country lane May 1935
