Early October news

October is here and we are still sorting out from the Chicago Toy Soldier aftermath. In the toy soldier front we picked up a lot of nice items for the shop and also got to review a bunch of great new products. Figarti Miniatures brought some great new prototypes (Panther Tank, Pershing Tank and a Russian KV1) as well as a handful of limited run vehicles that I had for sale at the show. Three are still available, see below. King and Country showed off all there October releases, W.Britain’s displayed all there future releases and Collectors Showcase “showcased” their new holiday release. We picked up some odd 1/32 plastic from Russia as well as several new Red Box 1/72 scale sets. Gene from Paragon Scenic’s was nice enough to send back a pile of his new Alamo Defenders in 1/32 scale. We also picked up another pile of 1/32 and 1/18 Scale 21st Century toys.

On top of the show we also have 6 new 1/72 scale Hat Industrie Figure sets coming in next week and we also just received a restock of about 50 older numbers. We just received a Plastic Soldier Co. order today including a few new items, sadly after a price increase earlier in the year we finally had to raise our prices (but they are still on sale). Also the new Expeditionary force figures have just popped in.

In games we just received Games Workshop 40K new Dark Eldar, WizKids Attack Wing Wave 8, D&D Monster Manual and we still have a couple Space Hulks left! We also got a pile of new Reaper Mini’s along with dozen’s of other new items and restocks.

HE 34th ANNUAL “OTSN” THE CHICAGO SHOW was a success!

We would like to thank all of you who came by and  made some purchases. It is fun show and a lot of work. We usually work about 12 hours a day and then network over beer at night. Plus the 17 hour drive out and then back.

We were down for a while October 1st. Looks like everything is all set. We had an issue with our “icloud hosting infrastructure” or whatever that is! basically we are backed up in a server bunker in CA and we got caught up in system updates so we briefly had no memory.  I think I have this issue a few times a week in my own head!

This month in Metal Toy Soldier Announcements….King and Country – October releases just announced .John Jenkins Designs –  September releases now in stock. John had a great idea and had a scavenger hunt at the OTSN. Collector’s had to run around to 8 dealers and identify 8 prototypes and answer a trivia. Winners will receive the prototype. We nominated Glenn Foster for our prize.  The Collector’s Showcase – September Releases are in and holiday releases have been announced.  Thomas Gunn Miniatures – October releases have been announced. Including WWII Japanese and Australians.  W.Britain – We have received the latest catalog and they are ready for pre-order.

Plastic Soldiers – Two new sets from Toy Soldiers of San Diego have arrived  Set #26 Mexican cavalry in Light Blue and Red and set #27 German Infantry.  Paragon Scenic’s we have received a batch of the new Alamo defenders.  Expeditionary Force  – A small batch of the new American Civil War sets have arrived. We also have prototypes of upcoming WWII and medieval releases due this Fall as well as some painted samples to show.

Brief news
